Youth Leaders Network

I have been working on getting the specifics down about the network and what all it needs to work. Therefore in this post I will list the purpose and the areas of opportunity to volunteer within the network.

The purpose of the youth leaders network is to be able to meet on a regular basis to discuss relevant issues regarding life and ministry, encouraging one another and networking for greater effectiveness through Kingdom partnerships.

Volunteer Opportunities

In order for the network to work in a cohesive manner there are several opportunities for youth pastors to get involved in helping to coordinate each meeting.

Topic Leader: The topic leader’s role is to find a youth related issue to discuss for the following meeting and prepare several discussion inducing questions to follow.

Prayer Leader: The prayer leader’s role is to record all noted prayer requests at the meetings and reproduce them in an email format to be sent to the youth leaders for continued prayer.

Resource Leader: The resource leader’s role is to encourage each attending youth leader to bring their favorite youth lesson, game, icebreaker, youth related resource, to share with the group. The leader will then combine them in either CD format or hard copy format to make available at future meetings as well as for potential youth network attendees.
-Chris Dortch from Christ Community Church has expressed interest in doing this.

Host Leader: The host leader’s role is to interact with youth leader and seek their willingness to host the next meeting at their facility. The leader will then interact with Eric to make lunch arrangements (provided by the MBA) for those in attendance

Favorite Ministry Related Books

I know that if you are like I am, I am always searching for new ministry related books that can specifically help target areas inside of youth ministry and out to be more effective. Therefore this post is about the books that you have read and have found to be beneficial to your ministry and would consider a must read by youth leaders. I will start off with two that I think are really good for helping ministers understand the youth of today and he other is a way of reaching the church in a way that closes the "back door".

Welcome Youth Leaders

As some of you know the Association has started a journey towards gathering youth leaders from around the association to meet regularly to network and discuss issues regarding youth today. We had our first meeting on November 13th and things went really well. However, we want more of you all to come and join in on this journey to help better strengthen and equip our youth and youth leaders.

Our next meeting is going to be on January 8th at 6pm and will run till around 9.

Thanks for checking out the blog and feel free to start posting away on here. Lets see some activity on here!!!!
